Dry method as standard, stain extraction as an option
Deep HEPA-Filtered Vacuuming
The heart of the service. Professional vacuuming of both sides of the mattress, seams, edges and handles. The HEPA filter traps fine particles instead of releasing them back into the bedroom air — the key difference from a domestic vacuum cleaner.
High-Frequency Vibrating Beating
A beater roller works the surface at high frequency to loosen dust, skin flakes and residue compacted into the top layers of padding, bringing them to the surface where vacuuming can actually remove them.
UV-C Light Pass
A pass with an integrated UV-C lamp over the mattress surface. We treat this as a complementary benefit — useful against surface bacteria and mite eggs — not as a disinfection method: on a porous, moving fabric we can't guarantee a measurable result, and we'd rather say so.
Stain Extraction Treatment (Optional)
For sweat, urine, blood or spill stains we use an injection-extraction machine with a fabric-specific detergent: it sprays the solution into the top layers and draws it back out along with the dissolved dirt. It requires drying time — we explain that beforehand, not afterwards.
Assisted Drying and Ventilation
When we carry out an extraction, we don't leave the mattress damp. We set up forced ventilation and tell you exactly how many hours to wait before making the bed again. A mattress put back into use while still damp is a problem, not a service.

The Five-Step Visit
Initial Assessment — On arrival we check the mattress type, age, cover and any stains, and their nature. From there we decide together whether the dry treatment alone is enough, or whether stain extraction is needed too.
Beating and HEPA Vacuuming — Bedding is removed, then we vibrate-beat and systematically vacuum the first side: surface, perimeter seams, edges and handles, with overlapping passes.
UV-C Pass and Second Side — A pass with the UV-C lamp over the treated surface, then the mattress is turned and the whole sequence is repeated on the other side. No side is skipped.
Stain Treatment (If Agreed) — Localised injection-extraction on only the stained areas, with a detergent suited to the fabric. We work spot by spot rather than soaking the whole mattress, to keep the moisture introduced to a minimum.
Drying, Check and Handover — We ventilate the room, do a final check with you, and give you practical care advice: how often to repeat the treatment, how to wash your bedding, and why a washable mattress protector is worth having.

How long does the treatment take for a double mattress?+
The full dry treatment on a double mattress takes about 45–60 minutes, both sides included. Adding stain extraction brings it to roughly 90 minutes, plus drying time. For a single mattress, times drop by about a third.
Do I have to wait before I can sleep on the bed?+
With the dry treatment, no: the mattress is usable immediately, because no water is introduced. If you request stain extraction, though, you'll need 6 to 12 hours of drying time with good ventilation, so we schedule that visit for the morning. We always tell you in advance which of the two applies.
Does the treatment kill dust mites?+
We prefer to be precise: professional vacuuming physically removes them along with their waste, which is the real cause of allergic symptoms. That's what matters, and it's what the evidence supports. The UV-C light adds a surface-level benefit, but we don't present it as sterilisation. Killing mites in bedding requires washing at 60°C, which is still something to do regularly at home.
Why don't you use steam or hot-water washing?+
Because on a mattress the problem isn't the temperature, it's the drying. A mattress is thick and absorbent: moisture introduced stays trapped in the padding for many hours. In a humid climate like Ticino's, this can encourage mould and, paradoxically, a resurgence of dust mites, which thrive on moisture. The dry method avoids the problem entirely, which is why it's our standard.
How often should the treatment be repeated?+
For someone without allergies, once or twice a year is reasonable. If you have a diagnosed dust-mite allergy, asthma, or pets that sleep on the bed, every 4–6 months gives more consistent results. For young children's mattresses, we recommend every six months.
Can you remove stains that are years old?+
Not always, and we say so upfront. Recent, organic stains respond well to extraction. Old ones, or those that have oxidised or soaked deep into the padding, often lighten without disappearing completely. We give you an honest on-the-spot assessment, and if the expected result is marginal, we tell you rather than charge you for a treatment that won't help.
Is it worth treating a very old mattress?+
Past 9–10 years, a mattress has usually lost its structure and support, and cleaning can't give back what time has taken away. In that case we'll simply recommend replacing it. The treatment gives the best results on mattresses still in good structural condition.
